YBN Nahmir might be experiencing some drama over his viral hit “Rubbin’ Off the Paint,” but he has the support of one of hip-hop’s biggest names: Bryson Tiller. On Tuesday night, Tiller doled out his own remix of Nahmir’s breakout single “Birmingham,” a nod to the U.K. city where Tiller will bring his Set It Off tour Wednesday night (Nov. 22).
Ever since the release of Trapsoul, Tiller’s star has rapidly shot up, and while he maintained a low profile during his nascent stage, the R&B crooner is everywhere nowadays. Over the booming trap beat, replete with skittering drums and a heavy bass, a boastful Tiller is heard reminding his critics of all his accomplishments, especially his debut album Trapsoul recently going double-platinum.
“Ever since I got to Europe, I’ve been planning to see/ 20 million once again, this time, I’m playing for keeps,” he raps. “I went double on my first, f— you saying to me?/ I’ll quit talking shit when these n—as quit playing with me.”
On Nov. 17, Tiller tweeted, “Mixtape mode,” suggesting that the “Run Me Dry” crooner could be gearing up to release a new mixtape following his sophomore effort True to Self, released earlier this year. Tiller’s “Rubbin’ Off the Paint” remix comes days after Vince Staples freestyled over the track.
Tiller is currently on his Set It Off tour with special guest SZA, which will make stops in Birmingham, U.K., on Wednesday night (Nov. 22) as well as Manchester and London before wrapping up in Dublin on Nov. 30.
