Looks like Pluto and Goofy won’t be the only dogs at Disney anymore.
Walt Disney World is joining the wave of change in the hotel business. For the first time ever, guests at the Disney resort hotels will be allowed to bring their four-legged friends along to join in on the family vacation. If you’re concerned about whether your dog breed is permitted, Disney is currently welcoming all dogs that are well-behaved, properly vaccinated, and open to being leashed while in public.
Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, Disney’s Port Orleans Resort Riverside, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, and The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort will open its doggie doors to all fur babies. Of course, it is Disney, so prepare your pup for a tail-wagging good time. Guests will receive Pluto’s Welcome Kit of canine swag complete with puppy pads, walking trail maps, disposable bags, pet ID tags, a mat, and bowls for dog dining.
The costs of bringing along your puppy prince or princess are listed at $75 per night at Disney’s Yacht Club and $50 per night at the other three resorts. If you’re not fond of the idea of your pooch pouting on the couch while your family park hops during the day, Walt Disney World offers a Best Friends Pet Care kennel with daycare. Imagine that — your pup having as much fun as you are while you’re at the parks. The Best Friend Pet Care starting rate is $44 per dog, with a $3 discount for resort guests.
