Eagles of Death Metal Return to Paris to Pay Tribute to Bataclan Victims

Two years after the terror attack at Le Bataclan, members of Eagles of Death Metal made an appearance at a Paris tribute to those who lost their lives in the massacre. The band offered a surprise performance Monday (Nov. 13), playing a cover of Duran Duran‘s “Save a Prayer” and their own song “I Love You All the Time.”

The tribute was led by France’s president, Emmanuel Macron. French news outlet Euronews reports Macron and Eagles of Death Metal frontman Jesse Hughes spoke and hugged outside the Bataclan, where family of the tragedy’s victims gathered.

President Macron and Anne Hidalgo, mayor of Paris, led a minute of silence before the victims names were read in remembrance.

Terrorists opened fire and left 89 dead, including Eagles of Death Metal’s merch manager, at the group’s Le Bataclan concert on Nov. 13, 2015
