Mariah Carey Gives Fergie Advice After National Anthem Performance at NBA ALL-Star Game

Mariah Carey knows what it’s like to be dragged down by the Internet because of a performance mishap — recall her 2014 Rockefeller Center performance of “All I Want For Christmas Is You” and last year’s New Years Eve performance. After Fergie’s widely panned rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner” at the NBA All Star game, Carey gave some sound advice on how to handle the criticism: “Dahling, nobody needs to listen to that.” Fergie performed a slow rendition of the national anthem at the 2018 athletic competition Sunday evening (Feb. 18), and people had a lot to say about it. Comedian Leslie Jones wondered, “Why did this happen,” adding, “you might as well should’ve asked me to sing.” Sports commentator Charles Barkley was itching to talk about “Fergie’s national anthem,” but Shaq O’...

Passenger drops farts with such a bad smell pilot is forced to make emergency landing

The pilot of a Transavia Airlines flight traveling from Dubai to Amsterdam Schiphol last weekend was forced to make an emergency landing after a row caused by a passenger who wouldn’t stop farting. Two Dutchmen sitting next to the man who was farting didn’t take very well to it but the unashamed man refused to hold back. Members of the crew on the Dutch low-cost airline refused to do anything about it and a fight broke out between the men despite a warning from the pilot. The row caused the flight to be diverted to Vienna Airport. After the plane landed, police went on board with dogs and removed two sisters and the two men after the pilot made a report about “passengers on the rampage”.  The two sisters who were removed from the flight are now taking the Dutch budget air...

Fresh N10bn NHIS Scam: APC Government Stinks – PDP says Presidency Has No Honour Left

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Presidency has no honour left after reports that it concealed a N10 billion theft perpetrated by its officials at the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS). It said the nation is being shoved to the precipice as the Buhari Presidency’s incompetence manifest in the daily activities of government. The party also described as the height of official hypocrisy for a government that is superintending over illegal withdrawals and outright stealing of funds meant for the welfare of the people yet brashly parading itself as champion of anti-corruption. The PDP, in a statement issued on Monday, by the National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, said it was shocking that the NHIS money was siphoned through the Fed...

And he’s Black like me.” Black Panther is inspiring a lot of good on social media — from campaigns to help people see the movie to celebrations of its cultural significance. A key part of the social media outpouring sparked by director Ryan Coogler’s film is the hashtag #WhatBlackPantherMeansToMe, which celebrates the release of Black Panther by opening a dialogue with fans about why this film isn’t just another Marvel movie to them. Responses have included the opportunity for Black kids to view themselves as heroes, seeing a Disney princess that reflects themselves like Shuri (Letitia Wrigh...

The flamboyant artist charted her first No. 1 album in what has become a record-setting career. IN 2011, NICKI MINAJ BECAME JUST THE fourth female rapper to earn a No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 with her first studio LP, Pink Friday. (She had put out three mixtapes between 2007 and 2009.) The album, which debuted at No. 2 the previous December, ascended to the top on Feb. 19, 2011, in its 11th week on the chart. That same week, the Trinidadian-American artist, then 28, saw Pink Friday cross the million-sales mark. (Its U.S. total now stands at 2 million, according to Nielsen Music.) Even Roseanne Barr Thinks She Sang the National Anthem Better Than Fergie

#SingItLikeFergieChallenge takes off. Strength recognizes strength, and when it comes to singing creative versions of the National Anthem, always outspoken Roseanne star Roseanne Barr is the GOAT of awful Anthems. Which is why it was not a huge surprise that the sitcom queen had a few thoughts on what can only be described as Fergie‘s oddly sensual take on the “Star Spangled Banner” before Sunday night’s (Feb. 18) NBA All-Star Game.  “Who saw Fergie’s national anthem performance at the NBA All Star Game?” Barr, 65, tweeted early Monday morning (Feb. 19). “I think mine was better lowkey.” As a reminder, Barr’s screechy, crotch-grabbing stumble through the Anthem back in July 1990 has long been considered the nadir of “Banner&...
