Journey’s Neal Schon Talks Stadium Shows, Tour With Def Leppard & Getting Past Band’s Trump Drama

The guitarist says he wants to collaborate with Steve Perry and has moved past his feud with keyboardist Jonathan Cain over Donald Trump. Journey is hitting the road this May for a 58-city co-headlining North American tour with Def Leppard, mixing arena dates with big stadium shows at iconic ballparks like Rogers Centre in Toronto, Wrigley Field in Chicago and Fenway Park in Boston. The two bands are coming back together after their 2006 co-headlining tours of amphitheaters, evenly dividing which band gets the shows’ closing slots.  Journey is getting back to work after a tumultuous break following the huge Classic West and East dates at Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles and Citi Field in New York that saw band feuding over a White House selfie. “How do we get past it? We just don’t tal...

Noel Gallagher’s Daughter, Anais, Quotes Paul McCartney in New PETA Ad

The latest spokesperson for PETA’s “meat-free revolution” is none other than Noel Gallagher’s vegetarian daughter, Anais. In a new clip by the United Kingdom branch of the charity, the 17-year-old discusses animal suffering while writing protest posters. Notably, she quotes iconic Beatles member and fellow meat-free dieter Paul McCartney, saying, “If slaughterhouses had glass walls, everyone would be vegetarian.” She urged viewers to watch videos of these slaughterhouses to understand what happens to animals before they are served on dinner tables. She then takes a more personal route, mentioning that her dog Ziggy is her “best friend.” “If you wouldn’t eat your pets, why would you eat another animal?” she continued. “Animals don’t have a voice, so they need you to speak up for them.” Watc...

Andy Rourke Says He’s Not Involved In the Orchestral Smiths Concerts: Report

Earlier this week, it was revealed that three former Smiths members — Mike Joyce, Craig Gannon, and Andy Rourke — would apparently be reuniting for a collaborative live show dubbed Classically Smiths, where the Manchester Camerata Orchestra would perform classic Smiths tracks with an orchestral twist. Now, Pitchfork reports that a representative for Rourke denies that he was ever officially attached to the project, and claims that the production company (Bad Production Ltd.) responsible for the shows went as far as to make up a quote that they attributed to Rourke. “Andy Rourke was never officially confirmed to take part in, license or authorize the use of his name for the Classically Smiths concert,” a representative told Pitchfork. “The production company had hoped Andy Rourk...

Jonghyun Leaves Behind Posthumous Gift of an Album, ‘Poet | Artist’

Last year ended with the K-pop industry shaken by the loss of the singer Jonghyun, but the final album by the artist, released on Monday (Jan. 23), starts 2018 with a sense of bittersweet closure. Jonghyun’s second studio LP Poet | Artist was recorded before the K-pop star’s passing, and serves as a testament to his career and distinct musicality. A mix of sentimentality and rhythmic dance pop, Poet | Artist serves as both a farewell and a sonic walk down memory lane for fans of Jonghyun, with its title reflected in the opening and closing tracks: the smooth trap-meets-tropical groove of “Shinin’” blends several eras of Jonghyun’s artistry, combining the deep house of SHINee’s “View” with the smoothness of “Deja Boo” and pep of “She Is.” Meanwhile, the final s...

Benedicta Elechi, the partner of DaddyFreeze, has finally opened up on why she walked away from her marriage of 10 years to Paul Odekina, the executive general manager of Human Resource at Total E&P Nigeria Limited. In an interview with LIB, she said: “I filed for a divorce from him because of his sexual perversion and there’s a point where you get to as a human being when you realise that something or what is your aim is never going to work. ..
Because when I signed a contract to marry him, I believed I was marrying a man that shared the same type of sexuality with me. They Are Musical Icons, but They’ve Never Won a Grammy Award

Remember when the cast of the TV series Glee earned a Grammy nomination for their version of Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin'” at the 2011 Grammys, pitting them against Sade, Maroon 5 and Paramore? It’s fair that you don’t recall that moment – but guess who never earned a nomination for “Don’t Stop Believin”’? Journey. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers have never even earned a Grammy Award, and have only been nominated once in their entire career. They’re one of many respected acts in music to have somehow been bypassed by the Grammys, despite much younger acts like Kanye West and Beyonce winning more than 20 awards each. “I’m very grateful that the fans are (still) there regardless of what I have sitting on ...

Cosby Jokes in First Show Since 2015 He ‘Used to Be’ Comedian

Bill Cosby performed in public for the first time since a sex abuse scandal embroiled him in 2015, joking that he “used to be a comedian” and playing with a jazz band in his hometown as a retrial looms in his criminal sexual assault case. The 80-year-old entertainer took the stage for about an hour Monday night at a Philadelphia jazz club for his first show since May 2015. Before a friendly crowd, he told stories, honored old friends and finished by leading the band in a set, first using his mouth to scat in place of a missing horn section and then taking a turn at the drums. Cosby, handing the drumsticks off to the 11-year-old son of the bass player, asked if the boy knew who he was and then told him. “I used to be a comedian,” Cosby deadpanned. The crowd applauded and laughed along with ...

Eminem and Ramz Go Toe-to-Toe for U.K. Singles Chart Crown

It’s a rap battle on the U.K.’s midweek singles chart as Eminem and Ramz go toe-to-toe for the title. Eminem’s current chart leader “River” (Interscope), featuring Ed Sheeran, takes the lead on the Official Singles Chart Update though London rapper Ramz is close behind in second place with “Barking” (Polydor). According to the Official Charts Company, the coming days could see “one of the tightest chart races in recent memory” as Eminem leads on downloads and Ramz has the advantage on streaming. The newly-anointed BBC Sound Of 2018 champ Sigrid is at No. 3 with “Strangers” (Island) following the Norwegian newcomer’s appearance last Friday on The Graham Norton Show. “Strangers” is outpacing “River” and “Barking” in downloads at the halfway stage. There’s upward movement from Dua...
