‘Meet Me in the Bathroom,’ Time Capsule of NYC Rock Scene, to Be Adapted Into 4-Hour Documentary

Pulse Films has acquired the rights to Lizzy Goodman’s oral history, documenting the rise of the Strokes, LCD Soundsystem and other staples of the early 2000s rock resurgence. Lizzy Goodman‘s oral history — or “dirty time capsule” as she puts it — of the transformative New York City rock scene during the early 2000s is getting the docu-series treatment. Pulse Films announced on Thursday it has acquired the rights to adapt Goodman’s best-selling Meet Me in the Bathroom: Rebirth and Rock & Roll in NYC 2001-2011 into a four-part documentary. 24-years after marriage, Nigerian lawmaker and wife welcome a set of triplet

An assembly member of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Lumsambani Dilli and his wife have welcome a set of triplets. The couple, according to Premium Times, wedre childless for 24 years before the babies came.  “We found out we were having triplets I am proud and grateful that after nearly 24 years of marriage, my wife delivered three healthy, beautiful babies.I can’t express the pure happiness of having a baby,” Dillisaid. “The lord is good as today Mr. and Mrs. Lumsambani Mijah Dilli are blessed with triplets after 24 years of marriage without bearing a child, glory be to God,” the wife added.

Several Nigerians in Libya do not want to come back home – Foreign Affairs Minister

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, says despite the hardship faced by many of the Nigerians still in Libya, they have refused to come home. BOKO HARAM: Army Removes Commander

In a fight against Boko Haram, Nigerian Army on Wednesday removed the Theatre Commander of the Operation Lafiya Dole, Maj. Gen. Attahiru Ibrahim. A new Major General has now been appointed and he is to head the military anti-insurgency operation in the North-East.Brig. Gen. Sani Usman, the Director, Army Public Relations, confirmed this to Punch via the telephone, noting that Maj. Gen. Rogers Nicholas has been named as his replacement. Usman said, “It is true that a new commander has been appointed for Operation Lafiya Dole. I can confirm the appointment.” Until his new appointment, Nicholas was the Chief of Logistics at the Army Headquarters, Abuja.

Trial of Maryam Sanda who stabbed husband to death in Abuja commences in court (Photos)

Maryam Sanda, wife of late Bilyaminu Bello, son of ex-PDP chairman, Haliru Bello, who was stabbed to death at their home in Abuja by her sometime in November, appeared at the high court in Jabi, Abuja today December 7th as she is being tried for homicide. At the court, the police amended the charges against her, including her mother Maimuna Sanda, her brother Aliyu Sanda and one other person, as co-defendants. The co-defendants have been accused of tampering with evidences that would be used in the case, LIB learnt. After receiving the amended charges, Justice Yusuf Haliru, ordered Maryam to be returned to the Suleja Prison. Her bail application was turned down. The Office of the Public Defender (OPD) in the Lagos State Ministry of Justice has rescued a 10-year-old girl in the home of Ada Onyejike Ananaba, founder of the Girl Child Art Foundation (GCAF) — a non- profit organisation that claims to provide more than 17,000 girls with life skill programme opportunities. The ICIR confirmed that Ananaba had been arrested and would be charged to court, likely on Wednesday, for maltreating the girl and denying her education (She had not been attending school since the start of the current academic session in September.). The girl was rescued on Tuesday afternoon by the OPD at Ananaba’s home in Omole, Ikeja, where she has been subjected to untold hardship and deprivation.
