Diplo Gives $100,000 to Las Vegas Shooting Victims’ Fund

Diplo is donating $100,000 to a fund in place for the victims of the deadly shooting at the Route 91 Harvest country music festival in Las Vegas. The money will go directly to victims and their families via a GoFundMe established by the Clark County Commission. “My deepest sympathies are with the victims of this horrific tragedy and their families. It’s my hope that these events will start a long awaited and honest conversation about the importance of gun control in America. Adam Parness has left his role at Pandora as head of publisher licensing and relations to become Spotify‘s global head of publisher licensing. Beginning Oct. 30, Parness will take the lead in growing relationships with songwriters and publishing industry members from the company’s New York base. He will report to Horacio Gutierrez, Spotify’s general counsel and global head of content licensing. Skrillex Drops Hard-Hitting Trap Remix of Ekali’s ‘Babylon’

Canadian DJ/producer Ekali may be new to the OWSLA family, but the label signee is quickly getting proper treatment from the boss himself. Skrillex has dropped his official trap rework of Ekali’s debut single on the imprint, “Babylon” featuring Denzel Curry, on Friday (Oct. 6). Skrillex enlists the help of hip-hop producer Ronny J, who has crafted a handful of Curry’s records including “ULT” and “Knotty Head”. Kaneka Jenkins death has been officially ruled an accident after the 19-year-old was found dead in a walk-in freezer Sept. 10 at Crowne Plaza hotel in Rosemont.Cook County medical examiners say the death was an accident, with intoxication from alcohol and medication being contributing factors, reports CBS Chicago. Jenkins died from hypothermia after being exposed to conditions of the walk-in freezer, the Medical Examiner’s Office said in a news release issued Friday. Toxicology tests detected alcohol and topiramate, an epilepsy/migraine medication, in the woman’s system.
