Nicky Jam, Carlos Vives, CNCO, Sebastian Yatra, Banda El Recodo, Lila Downs and Ha*Ash to perform.
Just weeks after the successful release of “Almost Like Praying,” his single to benefit Puerto Rico in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria, Lin-Manuel Miranda will be honored with the Latin Recording Academy President’s Merit Award for his “outstanding and numerous contributions to the Latin community.”
Miranda will receive his award, which is not a yearly honor and has been given only to a very limited group of individuals, during the Latin Grammy telecast, airing Nov. 16 on the Univision Network.
“Lin-Manuel’s urban and social poetry have provided strength and encouragement to every Latino motivated to get ahead,” said Latin Recording Academy president/CEO Gabriel Abaroa. “He has brought pride to our community by reminding us of the resilience and fortitude we demonstrate on a daily basis.”
The Latin Grammys also announced an additional roster of award performers that includes newcomers CNCO and Sebastian Yatra as well as Nicky Jam, Carlos Vives, Lila Downs and Ha*Ash, and in the regional Mexican realm, Banda El Recodo de Cruz Lizárraga and Bronco.
