Lupe Fiasco Drops New Songs ‘KJazz’ & ‘Black Power L Word’

In February Lupe Fiasco released his sixth studio album, DROGAS Light, a prequel to a trilogy of aligning studio albums forthcoming that debuted at No. 28 on the Billboard 200. Now, before heading out on tour next month, the Chicago native has delivered two fresh tracks.

The 35-year-old Food & Liquor MC dropped “KJazz” Saturday, appropriately featuring a tuneful jazz beat with an opening dedicated to those riding around Los Angeles. Additionally, Lupe released the socially conscious “Black Power L Word,” where the brash lyricist rhymes over a dirty sample, “Right on time like high speed trains/ Pull up real slow like tai-chi cranes/ That’s an excellent Karate Kid reference/ But I’m leave it there like negligence/ To focus on the dead/ That I said in my very first testament.”

Just last week, the MC took to Twitter to make the hip-hop community aware of his only goal the rest of the way: “When it comes 2 lyrics (which is the ONLY thing I care about) you’d be very hard pressed 2say I’m not one of the best ever #TBE for real.”

The “Kick, Push” artist stated. “I don’t say that to boast just a recognition of the work I’ve put in on the pen going on nearly 20 years non stop…. I have nearly every accolade there is to have in the music business the only thing left is to be the GOAT Lyricist & that’s the pace I’m on.”

Listen to Lupe Fiasco’s two new tracks below.
