Rainstorm Kills 5 In Bauchi State

     Tweet     5  persons are feared dead after a rainstorm hit some communities in Bauchi State on Saturday. The rain, which started about 4.49pm and lasted almost 90 minutes, left families in tears as the storm blew off the roof of their houses. While some houses were completely levelled to foundation level, some were left without fences and some were partially destroyed. Some of the worst hit areas are Wuntin-Dada, Tsohon Kanfani, Lafiyari, Yelwa, Rafin Zurfi, Inkil, Guru, Yelwa-Makaranta, Bakaro, Miri, Tiwum, Railway road and Government Reservation Area. Thirty protesters stormed the Eritrean event at Curzon Ashton’s Tameside Stadium on Saturday, throwing bottles, food and beer kegs. Organisers said frightened young children were put in danger by the violence. It is thought the men were protesting against the Eritrean government. 20-Year-Old Concertgoer Dies at Firefly Festival Campground

A 20-year-old woman has died on the campgrounds of a popular music festival in Delaware that has drawn tens of thousands of people. WDEL-FM reports that police have identified the dead concertgoer as Caroline Friedman of Philadelphia. She was found unresponsive early Sunday (July 17) in a camping area at Dover International Speedway. Friedman was pronounced dead at a local hospital a short while later. The station reports that the cause of the young woman’s death was not immediately known but authorities don’t suspect foul play. She was attending the four-day Firefly Music Festival, an annual gathering held on the grounds of Dover International Speedway. This year’s lineup included rappers Kendrick Lamar and Eminem.
