ASUU flays dismissal of ASUU-LASU Chairman, deputy, 13 others

Lagos – The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Lagos Zone, on Wednesday flayed the processes that led to the dismissal of ASUU chairman, Lagos State University (LASU) chapter and his deputy. ASUU President, Professor Biodun Ogunyemi Prof. Olusiji Sowande, ASUU Zonal Coordinator,said at a media briefing at LASU that the process was manipulated and did not follow due process. LASU’s Governing Council had on Sept. 8 dismissed 15 academic s staff members, two non-academic staff members and demoted two others. The affected lecturere are ASUU Chairman, Dr Isaac Oyewunmi, and his deputy, Dr Adebowale Adeyemi-Suenu. Former England footballer Emile Heskey has revealed that members of his family are still missing in the wake of Hurricane Irma. Heskey The ex-Liverpool striker said his relatives on the Caribbean island of Barbuda had been ‘wiped out’ by the Category 5 hurricane when it struck last Wednesday.
