Ryan Adams… troubadour, rocker, weatherman.
From his early days fronting Whiskytown through to his latest solo set, 2017’s Prisoner, Adams has traversed genres and packed a fair few surprises (remember his 1989 full-album cover?). For his latest gig, the North Carolina-bred muso tried his hand as weatherman for a local Denver news station.
Ahead of his Red Rocks concert on Thursday (June 14), the singer stopped by Denver7 to fulfill a years-long dream. Adams took his place before a green screen looking like the headmaster at rock star school, wearing a flannel over a yellow Batman shirt and donning dark glasses.
It all came about when Denver7 anchor and music fan Shannon Ogden messaged Adams on Twitter. Adams responded, and revealed he’d cut a smooth jingle for the ABC-affiliate, which he called “Denver 7 (Piece Of Heaven).”
Turns out, Adams was relaxing at home with his three cats when he got the call. It’s all in the clip below.
