Lagos State House of Assembly member, representing Oshodi-Isolo constituency 02, Mr Jude Idimogu, has reaffirmed his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, saying he belonged to APC.
Idimogu stated this while addressing the APC faithful at the party’s monthly local government area meeting at the Ejigbo mini stadium in Ejigbo Local Council Development Area, Lagos.
Idimogu, who was a PDP lawmaker in the state Assembly defected to the ruling APC early this year.
He said: “I want to state very clearly here that I belong to the APC, anybody circulating rumour that I’m still in PDP should stop it. I’m with my party members at the council level and I’m happy to join the winning party in the state. Though it was a difficult decision for me but I believe in the unity and progress of the state.”
While pledging his support for the state government and his loyalty to the party leadership, he said the progress of the state is not negotiable. He called on Ndigbo resident in the state to support APC to move the state forward.
“I call all Ndigbo in Lagos to join and support APC. Lagos belongs to all of us. There is no discrimination in Lagos, Lagosians are very accommodating, they have taken us as family, let us work together for a better Lagos; it is where you live and trade that you protect,” the lawmaker said.
In his address, Ejigbo LCDA Chairman, Monsuru Bello, urged the party members to take the development of the council above their personal interest.
He said: “The workload in Ejigbo is much, so, I appeal to you all not to put our personal interest above the workload in the LCDA. Most roads in Ejigbo are in bad condition, we need to construct these roads and make sure we give back to the people.”
