The performer has been sharing rehearsal shots as she perfects her stage show in the days leading up to the tour kickoff, which takes place on May 8 at Glendale, Ariz.’s University of Phoenix Stadium. In the pics, she’s practicing her moves and working through daily run-throughs.
Her Instagram stories are a different deal, though, as Swift is using the temporary nature of the platform’s feature to give Swifties an idea of what they can expect on the Reputation tour — namely, the new stuff, like the giant new stage she had built for the occasion.
“The stage is the biggest stage we’ve ever had,” she revealed on Saturday (April 28). “It’s 110 feet tall. Both of the B stages that are out in the audience are pretty much just as big as the main stage was on the 1989 tour.”
She went on to describe the massive video screen wall that also covers the surface of the stage, a “pretty seamless” addition to her touring plot that she’s never attempted before.
“It looks so cool from the upper sections of the stadiums!” she said. “When we’re walking on it, though, it’s kind of like you’re walking on an optical illusion… we’ll get used to it, I promise.”
Swift’s concert at the University of Phoenix Stadium has already broken the venue’s record for best attendance yet, with over 56,000 fans set with their tickets for the tour’s opening night.
She may have a big reputation, but she’s also got a bigger than big tour to look forward to — and if her Instagram updates are any indication, she’s just as excited to hit the road as her fans are to see here there.
